March 2012 Tournament - Lake Ray HubbardPam Rodden Takes the Day With the weather report calling for 100% chances of rain for Saturday, we were blessed. The day went well with no rain minus a few sprinkles until the last hour or so of the tournament, boy were we thankful. With that being said we all agreed it would be a no picture taking tournament. With only a couple of glitches in the day, it proved to be a pretty good day for fishing. Pam Rodden came in First place and Big Bass with 6.77, Norma Ussery came in Second with 5.05, Traci Smith came in Third with 4.53, Cheryl Bowden came in Fourth with 3.73, Barbara Arrington came in Fifth place with 2.62, Judy Muse came in Sixth place with 2.56, Seventh place went to Sue Cullins with 2.33, and Eighth place went to Jan Bruner with 1.62, also fishing were Judy Skibinski, Inge Kirby, Cindy Strong and Tegan Mason. This was not at all a poor beginning to a brand new tournament season.
LBAA Tournament on Lake Ray Hubbard - March 22-23rdCongratulations to Pam Ridgle, LBAA 2011 Rookie of the Year and DBnG member, for starting off with the win on Lake Ray Hubbard, and putting her name in the race for Angler of the Year! We also want to say good job to all of our members who competed - Cheryl Bowden, Jan Bruner, Judy Skibinski and Judith Hart on the Pro side, and Alisa Johnson, Cindy Strong, Charlotte Frazier, Randa McDonough, Pam Rodden and Norma Ussery on the Co-Angler side! The March weather made it tough and rough for practice. The club also assisted in taking entries for the LBAA New Beginning Charity Team Tournament, and with some great raffle donations.
Spring DIVA WOW Clinic at Elm Fork Shooting Range, March 31stThe clinic was a huge success, and sold out weeks in advance. The ladies who took our spin casting sessions (quickly becoming bass fishing) seemed to be much more interested in learning everything this time, and several actually went fishing! We will need to start taking some more bait casting equipment in the future! Instructors included Judy Muse, Tegan Mason, Traci Smith, Randa McDonough, Sue Cullins and Jan Bruner. Several of the ladies expressed interest in joining our club, so we hope to see them at our April meeting! Tegan and Jan both scored in the raffle too, with Tegan winning a beautiful choker necklace (ammo in the design of course) and Jan won a navigation system!
